TDSN is a 501(c) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. There are no fees for our support services but donations are needed for our programs to be successful. Volunteers are always welcome so please contact us if you have an interest in working with us. Our membership welcomes both experienced and inexperienced parents, as well as concerned professionals, friends and relatives. We respect the privacy of the individual and the family. TDSN does not endorse, promote or provide methods of treatment or therapy, legislation, institutions, or individuals. TDSN holds a fundraising events annually to support medical and developmental research that will help all people with Down Syndrome, to increase community awareness, acceptance and understanding of people with Down Syndrome, and to raise proceeds to benefit the many services we provide. These services include the newsletter we distribute to parents, family members, professionals and educators, the support we provide to families, the monthly meetings we hold, and the new parent books we make and distribute. The New Parent Books are an excellent resource for families who have just delivered/adopted a Down syndrome child as it provides personal stories and photographs from members of our group, medical information and phone numbers for physicians , therapists and other support systems, and general information about TDSN such as who we are, what we do, etc. The fundraising events enable us to achieve our goal which aims to include Down syndrome individuals in community activities, education and employment.
